Villach Easter Market
The Villach Easter Market takes place every year in the city center of Villach, Austria. There are several stalls selling sweets and snacks, as well as some handmade wares for sale from local artisans. This week kicks off the Easter Market and I was happy to visit today in search of some Carinthian Reindling.
Easter in Austria is a lot of fun. Austrian children are excited for the Easter Bunny to visit and many cities host Easter Markets for their local community. Walking around the Easter Market is very refreshing after the cold of Winter. In Villach, most shop owners decorate their windows for Easter and the city plants lots of fresh flowers for all to enjoy.
Although the Easter Market can be enjoyed in an hour, it is still some thing I enjoy about Spring in Austria. Colorful flowers, decorated eggs, ham, children laughing, and lots of sweets – whats not to love?
